If you have plans to travel or move with your pet, Danada Veterinary Hospital is here to make the transition as smooth as possible. Our veterinarians are USDA-accredited and can issue domestic and international health certificates to ensure your pet is healthy enough to travel and meets all necessary requirements. Requirements will differ depending on your destination and mode of travel. Domestic airlines may have different requirements and regulations for flying with a companion animal.
Our office manager, Tina, has extensive experience helping our clients with international travel. When it comes to international travel, it can take months and several veterinary visits to meet the requirements set by each individual country, so it is imperative to begin planning as soon as possible. Some countries require just vaccinations and a health certificate, while other countries require vaccinations, anti-parasitic treatments and other specialized testing. Resources can also be found on the USDA APHIS website. We have helped clients travel to a wide variety of countries including Mexico, Canada, New Zealand, Dubai, London, Curacao, and Portugal. We also include Hawaii as an ‘international’ destination strictly because the requirements are very similar to international travel. Since it is considered a rabies-free state, conditions for travel are much more stringent than in the contiguous 48 states. Contact us as soon as possible once you have finalized your destination and dates of travel, and we can begin assisting you with planning to ensure there is enough time to meet all animal export requirements.
