The Veterinarians of Danada Veterinary Hospital

  • Dr.
    Helen Dane
    Owner/Business Manager

Treats dogs, cats, and some exotic pets.

Dr. Dane started her love of animals early as she grew up on a dairy farm. 'I used to throw the dolls out of the baby carriage and replace them with kittens when I was 3!' Dr. Dane earned her doctorate degree from Iowa State University in 1982. After several years in private practice, she opened the doors of Danada Veterinary Hospital on August 2, 1989. Her favorite part of the job has been being a part of so many pets' lives and getting to know their unique personalities, as well as getting to know their owners. She is married to Roger Hohle, and has two children Max and Rae. They share their home with Scotty (cat), Bender (cockatiel) and Riker (dog.)

  • Dr.
    Keith Norberg
    Chief of Medicine

Treats dogs, cats and some small exotic mammals

Growing up next to Brookfield Zoo naturally developed Dr. Norberg's love for animals. He was inspired to pursue a medical career so veterinary medicine was the logical choice. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 2006 and joined our staff soon after. His special interests include toxicology, dermatology, surgery, and cytology. Learning something new and being challenged every day is the best part of his job but he also says 'our staff is outstanding and makes each day fun!' He shares his life with his wife Liz, daughter Olivia, and their dog, Wyatt and three cats Mariah, Rochambeau and Lafayette. Liz is a certified veterinary technician so their animals are well taken care of! In his spare time he enjoys long distance cycling and is an avid sports fan.

  • Dr.
    Laura Daily
    Associate Veterinarian

Treats dogs, cats and some small exotic mammals

Dr. Daily knew as early as kindergarten that she wanted to be a veterinarian. She was fascinated by all things ‘animal.’ The education for veterinarians is extensive but after contemplating her decision as she started college, she knew animal medicine was what she was meant to do. Dr. Daily graduated from the University of Illinois in 2016. After two years in private practice elsewhere, Dr. Daily joined the Danada Veterinary Hospital staff in 2018. She shares her home with her cats, Toby and Blue. Her favorite part of her job is being able to help guide families to make the best decisions for their pets. In her spare time, she enjoys photography, relaxing with a movie and baking.

  • Dr.
    Katie Freeland
    Associate Veterinarian

    Treats dogs and cats

Dr. Katie Freeland was determined to become a veterinarian when she learned as a child that animals need doctors too! Raised in northwest Indiana, she graduated from Western University of Health Sciences (California) in 2021. We first met Dr. Freeland when she was here for her externship while in her 4th year of veterinary school. After she worked in Indiana for 18 months, she came back to join the Danada team in December 2022. Getting to see firsthand daily the strength of the human-animal bond is her favorite part of her job. In her free time, she enjoys watching sports (mainly college football and hockey) with her husband and friends, horseback riding and golfing. Their family includes Chief, the Quarter Horse, as well as two cats, Po and Kevin.

  • Dr.
    Paige Gunderson
    Associate Veterinarian

Treats dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, reptiles and other exotic pets

Dr. Gunderson joined the Danada Veterinary staff in 2016 after graduating from the University of Illinois CVM. Not only does Dr. Gunderson love animals, but a passion for science and helping people made veterinary medicine a perfect fit. She has a special interest in exotic animal medicine and the challenges involved in treating non traditional pets. Her favorite part of her job is the daily joy from seeing the bonds between people and their animals, and being able to help the whole family. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching movies and trivia nights.

  • Dr.
    Jeneen Hiller
    Associate Veterinarian

Treats dogs, cats and small exotic mammals

As a child, Dr. Hiller was always with an animal, so becoming a veterinarian was the next logical step. Dr. Hiller joined the Danada Veterinary Hospital staff in 2004 after graduation from the University of Illinois in 2002. She especially enjoys surgery and wellness/preventative medicine. Her family includes a daughter, Kiley and son, Jack in addition to her husband, dog, cats, fish and guinea pigs. Dr. Hiller is on staff part-time so she not only gets to enjoy motherhood, but also continue to work with the Danada clients she is so fond of. The family loves to travel and in her spare time Dr. Hiller enjoys reading, working out, hiking and camping.

  • Dr.
    Lisa Kelly
    Associate Veterinarian

    Treats dogs and cats

To Dr. Lisa Kelly, the best part of her job is helping guide clients to make the best choice possible for their pet's health care. She credits the Danada clients and our upbeat, professional staff for her happiness coming to work. Dr. Kelly graduated from the University of Illinois in 2001 and joined the Danada Veterinary Hospital staff soon after. Dr. Kelly has experience in ultrasound and has a soft spot in her heart for working with cats and kittens. She lives with her husband, Kyle, her dog Nama, Zippy, Slippy and Percy the cats, 12 chickens, a dwarf frog named Splash and one very active daughter! Dr. Kelly also enjoys camping, ice skating, fishing, reading, and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She has moved out of the Wheaton area and now works on a limited, part-time basis.

  • Dr.
    Jenifer Sniezek
    Associate Veterinarian

    Treats dogs and cats

Dr. Sniezek graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in May of 2015 and joined us in July of 2016. 'In kindergarten I learned that a veterinarian was a doctor that helped animals. I knew then what I wanted to be” and her passion for animal health has only grown. She has interests in ophthalmology, feline medicine and emergency care. The best part of her job is making a difference in both pets’ and owners’ lives; tail wags and cat purrs are an added bonus. Outside of work she enjoys baking, drawing, dancing, reading and gardening. You will find her at as many Blackhawk games as she can go to! She shares her home with a menagerie of pets including Rosey and Lily the labs, BamBam, Pebbles, Tabitha, Tiger and Zoui the cats, Benson and Louie the birds and various frogs, snails and fish!

  • Dr.
    Laura Wallach
    Associate Veterinarian

Treats dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, reptiles and other exotic pets

While an undergrad at the University of Illinois, Dr. Wallach looked into the university's vet school. She thought 'I could do that!' She's been practicing at Danada Veterinary Hospital since 1996 after graduating from Illinois in 1994. She is passionate about her work and cares deeply about helping people do what is best for them and their pets. In her spare time away from work, she is an avid yoga student and also enjoys reading, music, movies and eating.
