MLS LASER THERAPY

Laser therapy is an FDA approved, noninvasive procedure that uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate cells and increase blood circulation. It has been used extensively in humans and now we are able to extend the benefits of the treatment to your pets. MLS refers to the Multiwave Locked System; this specific laser synchronizes two wavelengths of light, one that pulsates and one that’s fixed. The various therapeutic effects not only take place at the same time but reciprocally reinforce each other. The benefits of MLS Laser Therapy include:

  • Relief of chronic pain such as arthritis
  • Relief of acute pain such as trauma or injury
  • Strong anti-inflammatory effect
  • Stimulates healing of damaged tissue
  • Speeds recovery of the structural integrity of the injured region.

The procedure is based on the idea that light is absorbed into the cells. Light energy enters the damaged cells and stimulates inter-cellular activity in the cells that it hits. This reduces pain in the area, decreases swelling and inflammation, increases circulation, and can promote relaxation of the muscles. The procedure also releases endorphins, or natural pain killers. MLS Laser Therapy is extremely safe with little to no side effects when used properly.

Often patients will experience positive results after just one treatment and most acute conditions will improve after one to three treatments. More chronic conditions may have protocols that range from six to ten treatments. The treatments are cumulative and are delivered 2-3 times per week for 2-3 weeks and can then be managed on a monthly basis. Introduced in 2014, this beneficial treatment modality that can be used in place of, or with, traditional medicines depending on your pet’s condition. We can help provide relief to those animals suffering with arthritis, joint pain, hip dysplasia, wounds, and disk disease.

STEM CELL THERAPY

As our pets live longer and healthier lives, arthritis has become a common painful ailment. Many pets suffer from chronic pain. Regenerative cell therapy is an exciting procedure to treat osteoarthritis, hip dysplasia, ligament and cartilage injuries and other debilitating diseases. We utilize technology from MediVet, the first company in the world to provide in-clinic adipose derived stem cell therapy in 2010. They continue providing up to date treatment modalities that are based in science and supported by evidence. MediVet’s advanced stem cell therapy uses your pet’s own stem cells for treatment. Stem cells are powerful healing cells in your pet’s body that can become other types of cells. One example, in the case of arthritis, stem cells can become new cartilage cells, thus reducing pain and increasing mobility. MediVet’s patented stem cell procedure allows us to isolate stem cells from your animal’s own fat tissue, activate them, and reintroduce them directly into the damaged areas. The goal of this procedure is to provide a potent anti-inflammatory effect promoting cartilage and other tissue regeneration ultimately creating a healthier environment for the affected area. Most importantly, it’s an all-natural approach to healing without the adverse side effects.

This day-long procedure, performed completely in-house using the pet's own cells, has no chance of cell rejection or disease transmission. We encourage you to make an appointment with one of our doctors to see if your pet would benefit from regenerative cell therapy.

DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHS AND ULTRASOUND

Our imaging equipment allows for clearer images and a faster, more accurate diagnosis of your pet's internal condition. In addition, the digital x-ray machine provides safety benefits to your pet and our staff and has less of an impact on the environment than conventional x-ray films. Ultrasound is a valuable, noninvasive tool that can be used to determine organ health, see growths or masses that are not easily seen on an x-ray or clarify something the doctor may see on an x-ray. In order to make your pet more comfortable, we have a special procedure room. This room gives us a quiet space in which to not only perform ultrasounds, but to also check blood pressures, perform ECG's.

LABORATORY

Our in-house laboratory facilities enable us to provide quick diagnostic results for bloodwork, cytology, urine samples, and heartworm testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostic tests and consultations.
