During the pandemic, we found that preventing pets from lingering in the reception area greatly reduced our patients’ overall stress levels. Nervous pets in the waiting room not only elevate their own anxiety but also heighten the stress of other animals present. Creating a calmer reception area has also improved noise control throughout the hospital. We often see patients that are exceptionally scared, some of whom need sedation for their appointments. By maintaining a calm atmosphere and lower noise levels, we benefit not just your pets, but owners and our staff as well.
As a result, we offer mobile check-in for appointments. When you arrive at the hospital, simply text your pet's name along with your car's make and model, or easily check in for your appointment via our Otto app. Most pets prefer waiting in the comfort of their own cars or outside. When it’s time for your appointment, you and your pet will be escorted to the exam room.
We strongly encourage you to stay with your pet during all of their visits, but if you prefer not to be in the room, you’re welcome to wait in the reception area or in your car. If your pet is seeing a vet assistant or technician and you’d like to be present, you will wait in your car until an exam room becomes available.
For surgery and boarding check-ins, we will continue curbside service.
If you are picking up food or medication, or dropping off a lab sample, you will proceed inside directly to the reception desk.
